This course explores a range of subjects related to the relationship between violent conflict, refugees and education. Topics include: How is education in a country impacted by war? What access do refugees have to education in host countries and in countries of resettlement? How are universities around the world engaging with refugees to facilitate face-to-face learning, online courses and protection through scholarships? What are international organizations doing to provide support for refugee education? How can the inclusion of refugees into a host country's educational system support efforts to promote anti-racism? What can be learned from refugees that can inform pedagogies in host and resettlement countries? How can education boost the capacity of refugees to pursue employment? How do formal and informal forms of education contribute to refugees' funds of knowledge?
